  • Good things come when you least expect them...

Panic had started to set in. We are less than an hour from bedtime, and Josiah's only pacifier was missing. I had started to think he might have dropped it in Hobby Lobby earlier this afternoon. As I was looking for it Scout came to the door wanting to come in. I opened the door for her, and what do you think was in her mouth? Josiah's paci!!! He guess he had dropped it outside of the garage after we got out of the car this afternoon. Normally I would've scolded her for taking something of his, but she was so proud to have retrieved it, and I was so shocked and overjoyed that she had found it that all I could do was hug her and tell her what a good girl she is. It was such a movie moment! I wanted to say "good girl, Lassie!" As I chuckled about it occurred to me God uses the most unexpected means to bring blessings to us! I would never have found that pacifier outside. I would've searched the house for an hour looking for it, but he spared me that trouble and delivered it to my front doorstep (literally!) within minutes. He sees even our mundane needs and provides an answer in the most unexpected and providential ways!

  • Trip to Worcester

We are home safe and sound but quite exhausted. It was a nice week in Worcester. I forgot to take as many pictures as I wanted to take, but I thought I would share what I did remember!
On Wednesday, we went to Unkie & Susie's with Grammie for lunch. Wesley had such a great time playing with the kids. Unkie has lots more pictures from that day.

On Thursday morning we visited Grammie's house in the morning. Josiah discovered the candy dish!

We had dinner at G'ma's that evening.

Then Angela and Mia, my best friends from high school, came over for the evening. It was like no time had passed at all. Isn't that the best kind of friendship?

On Friday, we went to Friendly's for lunch with Gram. The boys really enjoyed their food, but the ice cream was certainly the best part! I had Forbidden Chocolate, of course!

I'm so glad we were able to go, but I am also glad to be home. The boys are taking their naps. So I think I'll go rest while I have the chance too!

  • Well, we were supposed to get a big snowstorm last night and today, but we ended up with less than an inch. Oh well!
Yesterday it rained all day. Scout was out for quite a while and got FILTHY.

By this morning there was some white stuff on the ground!

I'm hoping my tulips survive! I cut all that were open and brought them inside to enjoy before the storm came. We'll have to wait and see if the rest bloom.

Scout just loves the snow and was anxious to join me outside when I was taking pics!

Wesley did get to go out and play for a while after his nap. He came in with rosy cheeks and enjoyed a cup of hot cocoa complete with a candy cane and marshmallow. He was a happy boy! Grammie, remember this cup? Wesley uses it all the time. He loves it! I told him that you used to let me use it when I was a little girl.

That was our excitement for the weekend. Hope you all have enjoyed nicer weather than we have!

  • We've had lots of beautiful weather this week, and we've spent lots of time playing outside. So I thought I would share a few photos of my sweet boys playing outside.

Last Sunday poor Josiah fell in his crib and knocked one of his front teeth loose. The dentist isn't sure if it will return to its original position or not, but it looks pretty funny right now!

It's hard to believe spring is already here, but we are certainly ready for it. It's great to spend so much time outside. Hope you are all enjoying the weather as much as we are!

I was reading a blog entry that Dad wrote a couple of years ago about his visit to Life Church here in OKC. I was struck by the relevance of his closing paragraphs to the situation at our current church. It's an important reminder of our duty to be obedient entrusting the results to God. Thanks Dad!

"But is success our goal? To be honest, I am shocked at how often outward success works its way into our minds—whether consciously or unconsciously. We evaluate ourselves and even others by criteria that belong in the board room rather than the prayer closet. While we may not seek after the kind of success evident at Lifechurch.tv, still we judge ourselves and one another similarly. I need to repent of this.

I must bring to mind the reality that the Lord does not call me to anything but faithfulness. My task is to follow His Word carefully and leave the results to Him. I know that many will say that this is simply an excuse and justifies my lack of ‘success.’ But I don’t think that is the case. Sadly, I have to leave the reasons for next time. May God give us light. Amen."
